In the book, The Call of the Quran, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan explains that it is the duty of every Muslim man, woman and child to study the Quran and follow it. He further explains that it is also the responsibility of the Muslims to convey the message of the Quran to other nations. Therefore, the Quran urges the Muslims time and again to carry out this task: ‘strive with the utmost strenuousness by means of this (The Quran).’ (The Quran 25: 52) It is a fact that the Muslims' unity is their greatest strength. The best means of achieving this unity is the call towards God. In his last sermon, Prophet Muhammad urged his followers to convey the message of the Quran ‘even if only a single verse.’ Therefore, Muslims must perform this task in all sincerity till the Last Day; therein lies our entire success, both in this world and in the world to come.

In Calling People to God Maulana Wahiduddin Khan explains that dawah work has been termed in the Quran as ‘the call to God.’ In other words, dawah work aims at bringing people closer to their Creator and Sustainer. Calling people to God is telling them that the only right way of life for them on this earth is to become true believers in God. Man has only two ways of leading his life in this world: the self-oriented and the God-oriented. The self-oriented life is one in which all activities center on one’s self. Such a life is led according to man’s own thinking. He follows his own whims and desires. To him the fulfillment of personal interests and ambitions is the standard by which to measure human success. On the other hand, the God-oriented life is one in which man considers himself subservient to God. He moulds his feelings and emotions according to God’s commands. To such a person a successful life is one in which one lives and dies in accordance with God’s pleasure.

Dawah Made Simple is an easy to understand pocket reference book which gives an introduction to Islam. Most importantly, it explains the spirit of dawah, with its special focus on prayer and devotion, peace and spirituality and nearness to God. It explains that dawah is an obligatory duty of the believers. Calling people to God is to convey the message of God to those who are still unaware of it. From the viewpoint of real status, a Muslim is a dayee and all other nations are his madu. That is to say that God has made the Muslims the trustee of His final book, the Quran. Now it is their responsibility to convey the message of this book to all humanity. The success of both the worlds, the present world and the hereafter, lies in fulfilling this duty.

In the book Dawah: The Mission of the Muslim Ummah, the author Maulana Wahiduddin Khan explains that today, the Muslim ummah, by and large, is sunk deep in negative thinking. This is only because of its degenerated mindset. In line with its negative thinking, it has wrongly come to think of other communities as enemies. For some Muslims, this view is held at the level of thought, while others, driven by this mindset, are engaged in violence. This is certainly a very dangerous signal, which had been predicted centuries ago by the Prophet. The author elaborates, that today, it has become a duty binding on Muslims to develop positive thinking. They must completely stop thinking of other communities as their enemies. They must be reminded of the fact that their status is not that of a community, but, rather, that of an ideological group, one that has just one mission—and that is, peaceful dawah, or calling people towards God. They must engage in this task with unilateral well-wishing for others. They must completely renounce violence, and, instead, get engaged in peaceful dawah work. This is the only way that can make them deserving of God’s blessings.

The present book, Hijab in Islam is a translation by Maulana Wahiduddin Khan of the authoritative Arabic book titled Hijab al-Mar’ah al-Muslimah fil Kitab was-Sunnah, by Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani, a famous scholar and traditionist. It was translated by this writer and initially published in condensed form in the quarterly, Islam and the Modern Age. The question of hijab (veil), or purdah in Urdu, the author tells us, has been discussed in the light of the Quran and Hadith. The following rules of hijab are applicable: the whole body, except for the exempted parts should be covered; but any veil which in itself becomes an attraction is to be avoided; garments should not be semi-transparent, dress should not be tight fitting, garments should not be perfumed, the form of dress should not in any way resemble that of men, it should not resemble that of non-believers and garments should not reflect worldly honor.
